Rev. Ron Whitlock
Bro. Ron Whitlock, our Pastor Emeritus is a native of this area. He was born in Fayette County, Georgia, saved at age 10, and graduated from Fayette County High School in 1961. He married his high school sweetheart, Eileen Smith, in 1963. The Lord has blessed them with two children. He joined the United States Air Force in 1963 and after four years, he and his family moved back to Fayette County. They rededicated their lives to Christ in 1968 and begin actively serving the Lord.
Bro. Whitlock was called to preach in 1972 and in 1974 he enrolled in Tennessee Temple University to prepare for the ministry. After graduation in May of 1977 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology, he followed God’s leading and started a new church in the Senoia area. With the help of Kenwood Baptist Church and other churches, Tri-County Baptist begin in August of 1977. Along with serving as pastor of Tri-County Baptist Church for forty plus years, Bro. Whitlock also had the opportunity to influence the lives of many young people as a teacher, counselor, and principal at Newnan Christian School for thirty plus years.
